Web Copywriting

Does every page of your website drive the visitor to the sale?

Web Copywriting
There are a lot of great looking websites out there, but unfortunately most of them aren’t built to sell a product or service.  Our philosophy is why not have both?  We create websites that satisfy both the visitor’s need for an appealing interface as well as content that is engaging and persuasive.  On top of that, we create content and page navigation schemes that satisfy the search engines’ need for keywords.

We accomplish this starting in the Information Architecture phase of the website development process in which we establish the purpose of the page in question as well as its intended audience.  With an understanding of the topic and the needs and vocabulary of the target customer, we create persuasive, keyword-rich content that drives the prospect to the sale.

An integral part of the persuasion process is the site’s navigation labels, the most common being “Home,” “About Us,” and “Contact Us.”  We construct navigation schemes that include those universally accepted labels as well as labels that balance the vocabularies of your company and your customers.  The result is a website that is easy to understand, which in turn results in a smooth sale.

What is your website’s Conversion Rate (CR)?
As with other marketing and sales initiatives, the way to measure the success of your website is by calculating its conversion rate, that is, the percentage of visitors (prospects) who convert to customers, however you might define customer.  When a visitor arrives at your website's door (whichever door that might be), find what she’s looking for, and takes the action you want her to take — such as buying a product, requesting a service, or becoming a member, is  a conversion.

A strong conversion rate requires that you empathize with your customers, understand their motivations, and speak their language.  There are other factors as well — your website's appearance, usability, and functionality — that influence a prospect’s decision to convert.  It’s important to know that people want to give you a chance, but if your website is unprofessional, poorly designed, hard to navigate, or too impersonal, you will lose customers.

How do you achieve a strong conversion rate?
Everything we’ve discussed affects your site’s conversion rate.  If you currently have a website, ask yourself the following questions:

  • Is your website easy to navigate?
  • Is your page content easy to understand?
  • Do you have a clear call to action on every page?
  • If your site takes transactions, is your cart easy to use?
  • Does your overall website convey trust?

If you answered “no” or “I don’t know” to any of these questions, you should definitely call us as soon as possible because your website is probably not generating as many leads or sales as it could be.
